Silence is Golden | retreat in silence

  • Kadampa Meditation Center Indianapolis 4010 West 86th Street Indianapolis, IN, 46268 United States (map)

with Kadampa Teacher, Gen Kelsang Chokyi

Start the first day of 2024 with some silence to contemplate and connect with a deep level of relaxation. Discover the real freedom to be found in a calm and quiet mind.

In this short guided meditation retreat, Gen Kelsang Chokyi will guide meditations that help us be clear and stable about our spiritual aspirations for the new year. Normally, we focus our new year resolutions on external endeavors; in this retreat, we will focus on positive, mental change.

The retreat is suitable for all meditation levels, including beginners who wish to get some experience of a silent retreat. It includes guided meditations, short teachings as well as a written Q&A in the last session. Everyone can benefit from this retreat — you don't have to be Buddhist to participate.

This retreat will be using the book Modern Buddhism by Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche, which is also available as a free download. It's not required to have these books, but some people like to have them on hand during the event or read more afterward.
